How to Max Out Your Home's Curb Appeal
When it comes to strangers falling in love with your house, appearances on the outside really can and do make a difference. Luckily, you don’t have to invest in pricey upgrades or fancy services to make your home look its best from the curb!
A few regularly planned to-dos and DIYs can have a very real impact.
For starters, keep your exterior spaces picked up and tidy—sweep away debris, toss any garbage or stray limbs, and wash something if it’s dirty. Stay on top of any maintenance issues, from peeling paint to cracked driveways.
In flower beds, freshen up the surface with mulch, and around the house add soft plant materials in containers for a bit of color. That maintenance goes for windows and doors—fixed odds and ends as well as a fresh coat of paint add some dramatic pop. You can even invest just a little by adding new light fixtures or house numbers; those are easy DIY projects and give a fresh face to an entry.
The way you present the exterior of your home is the number one key to setting up potential buyers to expect to love the interior. A bad first impression will set the stage for hesitation in a buyer putting your home on their list of possibilities.
